David Platt
Dave Platt is the leader of the Resilient Futures West Australian practice network. He is also the Theme Leader for Leadership and Organisational Development. Dave’s primary focus lies in working at the nexus between learning, leadership and place centred community engagement and development.
Dave is the Principal of CUSP Consulting a boutique learning and development consultancy that provides program planning, development, management and evaluative services to educational institutions, state and local government, community organisations, NGOs and private industry. Within that space, Dave focuses on using innovative and active learning processes to build leadership capability in support of resilient organisations and communities.
His previous experiences include extensive work in service-learning and community engagement in Australia and the United States. He has designed and led immersion-learning programs to East Timor and has also worked as the General Manager of a community-based youth and family services organisation. With CUSP Consulting he has also engaged in a number of research projects, undertaken program evaluations, facilitated strategic planning exercises, reviewed global education programs and delivered a range of leadership development programs.
Dave firmly believes that learning programs should challenge participants to step outside of their own spheres of influence and understanding; to take a whole systems view of every problem and opportunity and act accordingly. Dave is adept at facilitating learning which accounts for multiple scales and perspectives - ensuring that action is strategic and dynamically contributes to the health and well-being of our communities and most importantly, is resilient.
