How we can help

Resilient Futures is dedicated to advancing the thinking and process models of resilience in a way that allows for practical application that is accessible and empowering to anyone and everyone at all levels - whether they be a community leader, a leader of industry or a small voice as part of a bigger system.  Our goal is to give people the tools to allow them to make an impact on whatever environment they are involved in.

We can assist in a range of ways. In most instances programs are customized to the specific situation and client need. However, listed below is a brief description of a small range of applications provided in the past:

Resilience primer

The Reslience Primer is a 90-120 minute briefing which introduces the key concepts, gives some immediate answers and helps people advance their thinking through some of the resilience concepts.  Resilience thinking can be applied at multiple levels, and this primer will give you what you need to start the journey.

Strategic Planning in Action

In the past executive leadership have had the luxury of assuming that business models were more or less immortal but today success can no longer rely on efficiency and the conservative milking of sacred cows. We offer a fresh approch to strategic planning using resilience thinking. Find out more here.

Emergent Conditions Analysis / Strategic Risk Insights

Using a framework looking at mega, macro and micro conditions, we assist governments, organisations and individuals to understand and frame the immediate and emergent conditions which are likely to cause significant disruptions (state changes) in their operating envionment.  Click here to find out more.

Leadership for a Resilient Future

This leadership development program uses the Resilient Futures framework and process to identify and develop leaders who are capable of leading resilient teams and resilient organisations.  This builds on the resilience primer or allows for rapid deployment of resilience thinking into a group or organisation.  Click here to find out more.

Developing Organisational Resilience

We provide a workshop program which uses the framework and process to enable participants to make a preliminary assessment of resilience in their organisation and develop capabilities to allow them to make their organisation increasingly resilient.  To find out more, click here.

Developing Resilient Communities

Resilient Communities Process Workshop:

This half-day workshop is an American Institute of Certified Planners approved course (3 CM credits) that introduces participants to the Resilient Future Framework as it relates to the planning profession at local, state/regional and national/global scales. For more information contact Fred Presley

Resilient Communities Comprehensive Planning:

Many communities go through an intensive “comprehensive” planning process in order to layout the vision and strategy for their communities for the next 5-10 years.  Unfortunately, most of these communities do not engage in a process that ensures that resultant plan is fully informed about the existing and emergent conditions and that moves toward creating the capabilities that will be required to survive and thrive within those conditions.  The Resilient Futures Team has developed a process specifically designed to create a Community Plan that is both Resilient and meets the requirements of your community. For more information contact Fred Presley

Resilient Communities Economic Development Strategy:

Current economic development practices fall far short what is needed given the convergence of global conditions that are now and will continue to completely alter the economic landscape within which we operate.  Communities, states/regions and nations must develop resilient strategies for economic development.  The Resilient Futures Team, through its ongoing work in communities and regional organizations, has developed a process to guide you through the thinking and the process required to create a Resilient Economic Development Strategy. For more information contact Fred Presley or David Platt.
